The Cleveland Way is close by, where you can take in the dramatic cliff top views, or take the Cinder Track, where you can follow the old railway line across to the beautiful Robin Hoods Bay. For nature lovers, the North York Moors are perfect to wander amongst the heather and through the miles of unspoilt countryside, where you can spot waterfalls such as Falling Foss. Down the coast is the traditional seaside resort of Scarborough with its two fantastic bays – a quiet picturesque North Bay with beach huts, Sealife Marine Centre and surfers, and the South Bay with donkey rides, fish and chips, amusement arcades and a fairground. Scarborough also has an increasingly popular music scene, at the open air theatre, boasting top artists and bands throughout the year. For something different, why not take a steam train journey into the heart of the National Park to “Heartbeat' country and the quaint village of Goathland. Step aboard a boat for a trip out to sea for a unique view of the coastline and maybe the chance of spotting whales and dolphins. There are plenty of man made attractions around the area such Flamingo Land theme park, Eden War Museum for a trip back in time, and the medieval, walled city of York with its dungeons and a Viking centre.
