Tasteful Grange Over Sands Apartment

5 People|3 Bedrooms|

Property Description

Occupying the first and second floor of a characterful Victorian building, with high ceilings and large sash windows, S81983 is incredibly light and spacious and is ideal for families and couples who like to have everything on the doorstep. It offers all the comforts one expects from a holiday home, with its contemporary bathroom, additional cloakroom/utility with toilet facilities, a well-equipped dining/kitchen, spacious living room and comfortable bedrooms. Overlooking the road, there is a variety of shops, cafés and pubs within a few hundred yards.

Located to the north of Morecambe Bay, Grange-over-Sands developed from a sleepy fishing village into a popular seaside resort during the Victorian era, and today it attracts many visitors with its traditional laid-back charm. In addition to all of the shops and cafés, there is a traffic-free promenade and ornamental gardens, which provide a welcome retreat from the hustle and bustle of some of the busier Lake District towns. There are plenty of parks and nature reserves in the area making it a popular destination for nature lovers and birdwatchers. Other relaxing activities include lake cruises, museums, galleries and afternoon tea, whilst for the more active there are plenty of opportunities for walking, climbing, cycling, golf, horse riding, fishing and watersports.
Thanks to its position between Morecambe Bay and the Lakeland fells it is considered to have the mildest climate in northern England and is a great base for exploring the southern Lakes. Within a 15-mile drive of the M6, it is very accessible, making this a great base for exploring the Lake District, as well as the Yorkshire Dales National Park, Arnside and Silverdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Lancashire. The picturesque village of Cartmel, famous for its sticky toffee pudding, National Hunt race meetings and Michelin starred restaurant, is just 2½ miles away. Other places worth visiting in the area include Holker Hall 5 miles, Sizergh Castle 10 miles, Kendal 13 miles, and Windermere 15 miles. Coniston, Hawkshead, Grasmere, Ambleside and Bowness are also very easily reached by car.
For those who want to take a break from driving there are great public transport links from Grange-over-Sands, including regular buses into Kendal and trains that run along the Cumbrian Coast with connections to Lancaster, Preston and Manchester airport. Whatever you like to do, Cumbria offers something for everyone and this duplex apartment is the perfect base from which to explore the area. Shop and restaurant 50 yards, pub 80 yards.
