By standing on the bridge, you can literally have one foot in England and one foot in Wales.
Visit Chester, with its wealth of historical buildings, old city walls, cathedral, racecourse, excellent shopping, bars, restaurants and of course, the popular tourist attraction Chester Zoo. Other cities within easy driving distance include Liverpool, Shrewsbury and Manchester, which can all be reached in under an hour. Over in Wales, the market town of Wrexham is just 6 miles away and there is a bus service which links Wrexham to Chester via Farndon, should you wish to leave the car behind. For those who prefer the coast, the North Wales beaches of Rhyl, Prestatyn and Llandudno are all within an hour's drive. Other places worth visiting include Llangollen, 19 miles and Snowdonia, 40 miles. There are lots of great walks and cycle routes in the area, as well as several golf courses within 5 miles. Shop and pub ¼ mile, restaurant 50 yards.
