Brixham's beaches are a mixture of sand, shingle and large pebbles. The popular open-air sea water swimming pool is surrounded by a shingle and rock beach, which is always popular for rock pooling. Nearby are the wonderful sandy beaches of Broadsands, Goodrington and Paignton. There are lovely coastal footpaths to Berry Head Nature Reserve with its colonies of nesting Guillemots and Kittiwakes, the Napoleonic fort and the lighthouse.
