Cycle across to Brecon Beacons National Park using the touring route, running from Llandeilo in the west, to Abergavenny in the east. The route follows a Roman road with panoramic views of the Central Beacons, and winds along lovely country lanes before joining the pretty tow path by the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal. Explore the spectacular scenery by car or on foot with walks from the cottage. Carreg Cennen Castle, 3 miles. Short drive to National Botanical Garden of Wales, Aberglasney Mansion and garden, Dan-yr-Ogof Show Caves, gold mines, Dinas rspb reserve, fishing in Usk reservoir or River Towy, 5 miles.
