You can enjoy a steam train ride with beautiful picturesque views along the 10½-mile journey that passes through beautiful countryside, known as Staffordshire's 'Little Switzerland'. Cheddleton Flint Mill is close by, which used to supply the potteries in the Staffordshire area.
Other places worth a visit include Poole's Cavern and Country Park, 13 miles and one of Derbyshire's most spectacular natural show caves, Haddon Hall, 18 miles, and Arkwright's Cromford Mill, 20 miles, which is part of the Derwent Valley Mills unesco World Heritage Site. Alton Towers theme park is just 13 miles away, and the Peak District National Park has many outdoor activities including mountain biking, abseiling, rock climbing, caving, stream scrambling and hiking.
