The Cleveland Way snakes its way along the coast towards the lovely Victorian town of Saltburn-by-the-Sea with its pier and cliff lift and the quaint fishing village of Staithes is only 4 miles away, making this the perfect retreat for those who enjoy the great outdoors. The coastal towns of Runswick Bay, Robin Hoods Bay and Redcar are also within easy reach. The wonderful fishing town of Whitby is just a half hour drive away, with its historic abbey, bustling marina and famous fish and chips, making it a great place for all the family. It is also home to the bi annual Goth Weekend, annual Whitby Regatta and the setting of the Bram Stoker's Gothic novel Dracula. The natural beauty of the North York Moors National Park begins just 5 miles away from the property and has some of the most beautiful scenery in the UK, home to villages such as Goathland (also known as Aidensfield from Heartbeat) Lealholm and Grosmont where you can catch a train on the Grosmont to Pickering railway line where the steam train operates. The area is perfect for walkers and hikers, birdwatchers, surfers and families as the beach is within easy reach and for wet days there is a swimming pool and leisure centre in walking distance.
