Schull, 10 miles, has a good selection of shops, seasonal water sports, sea angling and Ireland's only planetarium. From here, you can get a ferry to Cape Clear Island, the largest of Carbery's Hundred Isles, or embark on the Fastnet Tour. This is also an excellent base for touring further afield. Bantry, Glengarriff and Garnish Island, and the other stunning peninsulas of west Cork, are just some of the numerous options for day trips.
