Delightful Reeth Cottage

4 People|2 Bedrooms|

Property Description

This semi-detached stone cottage has a wood burner in the living room, ideal for snuggling up in the evening after a day's adventure in Swaledale. On warmer nights why not relax outside in the private courtyard with a glass of your favourite tipple? It has been superbly finished with a contemporary kitchen and living room, as well as two comfortable bedrooms and a contemporary bathroom. The area provides visitors with mile upon mile of unspoilt dales, just as nature intended. Visitors from all over the world come to the area to enjoy all that Swaledale and the Yorkshire Dales have to offer. A haven for walking and cycling, with footpaths leading in every direction and stretching for hundreds of miles. The historic market town of Richmond is just a short drive with its Norman castle, Georgian theatre and quaint cobbled streets, surrounded by a good selection of tea rooms, gift shops and convenience stores. From here you can enjoy a riverside walk to Easby Abbey which lies in picturesque surroundings by the River Swale. Easby is one of the best preserved monasteries of the Premonstratensian 'White Canons', with the magnificent refectory, gatehouse and canons' dormitory remaining. The parish church within the precinct, which is still in use, contains rare 13th century wall paintings.

Travel just 7 miles to the west and you will arrive in the popular market town of Leyburn where a buzzing market lines the streets every Friday with stallholders selling a wide array of produce and wares. Leyburn is well served by a good range of traditional shops and amenities. The green rolling hills of Wensleydale lie to the west of Leyburn with many historic, inspiring landmarks. Just 2 miles from Leyburn is Middleham, famous for its castle that was home to Richard III, and has a wonderful racehorse presence. As well as the Dales, you are just a half hour drive away from the North York Moors National Park with attractions such as Sutton Bank, where you can take in the breathtaking views back across the national park or spend your day strolling around the market towns of Thirsk, Bedale and Northallerton.
