Sgairbh Chladach is Scottish Gaelic and means Cormorants Coast. Aptly named because of the abundance of bird and marine life in the area, this charming, detached, traditional fisherman's cottage has been lovingly furnished to provide a very comfortable holiday home, and is literally a few yards from the sea. With gas central heating throughout, it is a very cosy cottage whatever the weather and time of year. Whitehills is an attractive fishing village typical of those strung out along this varied coastline with rugged coves interspersed with some lovely sandy beaches, especially heading west towards Nairn and Lossiemouth. Situated on the bus route to Aberdeen and Inverness, perfect for leaving your car behind, and enjoying a day of shopping. Just 2 miles from Banff, the area is surrounded by natural beauty, from the imposing cliffs of Troup Head in the east to the sands of Banff Links. Plenty of sheltered coves, rocky inlets and other fishing villages await discovery, including Portsoy, home of the famous boat festival and location for the film 'Whisky Galore'. For the active holidaymaker there is an abundance of golf courses, cycle trails and clifftop walks. The Coastal, Whisky and Castle Trails are easily accessible and Duff House in Banff has a regular programme of exhibitions, music and lectures. There is also an aquarium and one of the best surfing beaches in Aberdeenshire within a few miles of the cottage. Nestled on the Moray Firth, why not head out for a spot of dolphin watching, the perfect end to your adventurous day. Beach 500 yards. Shop, pub and restaurant 300 yards.
