With beaches on both coasts easily accessible you will never be stuck for trips to the beach. The closest is Porthkidney Sands which can be reached on foot along the estuary which winds its way through sand dunes to where the River Hayle joins the Atlantic Ocean. Lelant has two pubs, a deli and restaurant and a golf course with outstanding views.
