This pretty stone cottage was once the home of Dewi Emrys; a famous Welsh preacher and bard (poet) who won the coveted “Chair” of the National Eisteddfod 4 times.
The owners have lovingly renovated the cottage, retaining it's traditional features and adding modern comforts, making it a perfect escape for a couple or a small family.
The tiny village of Talgarreg in Ceredigion has a welcoming pub just across the road and lovely countryside walks to enjoy.
The seaside towns of New Quay, Aberaeron, Llangrannog and Tresaith are all close by.
The county town of Cardigan and the university towns of Lampeter & Aberystwyth are within a half hour drive.
Entrance is through a low door into the spacious and comfortable sitting room with open beam ceiling, stone fireplace and woodburning stove to welcome you.
There is a wooden floor, leather sofa with 2 matching armchairs, coffee table, TV, DVD player and some books, games and DVDs.
A step leads to the kitchen AND dining room with painted pine panelling.
It is fitted with a range of units, electric oven, ceramic hob, fridge, integrated freezer, microwave oven and coffee maker.
There is a dining table and 4 chairs.
The small utility area has a table top dishwasher and a washer/dryer.
A door leads from the kitchen to the enclosed patio and garden area with rotary washing line.
The shower room is on the ground floor and has a suite of modern shower cubicle, WC and hand basin.
Stairs lead from the sitting room to the 2 bedrooms both of which have sloped ceilings and original floorboards.
bedroom 1 has a double bed, bedside cabinets, chest of drawers, chair, hanging rail and TV.
bedroom 2 has children's bunk beds, chest of drawers and a wall mounted TV.
Garden and parking
There is an enclosed garden with sloped grassed areas with attractive borders and gravel and slate patio areas.
A garden table, 4 chairs and a bench are provided.
Parking is on the roadside in front of the cottage.
Other information
There is oil fired central heating throughout the cottage; this is included in the rental.
A basket of logs for the woodburner are supplied and more can be purchased locally.
A travel cot and highchair are available.
There are 2 retracting stairgates fitted.
All the beds are made up with fresh linen for your arrival and towels are included in the rental.
Please bring your own beach towels.
