Luxury Scarborough Cottage

5 People|3 Bedrooms|

Property Description

S41150 is tucked away in a quiet cul-de-sac yet just yards from all the attractions and amenities of Scarborough, making it a perfect holiday base. This unique, upside down house has a balcony upstairs with views across the town and to the sea in the distance. The upstairs of the property is all open plan with a lounge leading out onto the balcony where there's a seating area, a lovely place to relax and read or sunbathe. Downstairs there's a large hallway ideal for storing bikes or surf boards. It's also unusual in that it has its own parking which is hard to find in the centre of Scarborough. For those of you who wish to leave the car behind you can walk from the train station to the property as it's just around the corner.

Guests are spoilt for choice because, within a very short stroll, you are amongst all the restaurants, bars, cafes and shops. Just across the road is the Stephen Joseph Theatre, famous for the world premieres of almost all of Alan Aykbourn's plays. Along the coast, you'll find Flamborough Head, Filey and the traditional seaside resort of Bridlington. The rspb bird sanctuary at Bempton is a short drive where, you can observe puffins, gannets, seals and dolphins in their natural habitat. If you wander down to the seafront, you'll find the two bays, North and South Bay. The bays are separated by Scarborough Castle, perched high on the headland. The South Bay is the livelier of the two with the amusements, donkey rides and attractions whilst the North Bay is much quieter. Both have fantastic beaches that have won awards from Blue Flag and Quality Coast making them ideal for that family holiday. The Marine Drive runs all the way along the two bays and is over three miles long, great for that early evening stroll. If you prefer to have a good hike Scarborough forms part of the Cleveland Way, where you can walk along the rugged cliffs with stunning coastal views and hidden coves. Scarborough also plays host to the famous cricket summer festival where you will see county cricket at its best. Yorkshire has plenty of stately homes and you are not far from most of them. Sewerby Hall, Burton Agnes Hall, Sledmere and the wonderful Castle Howard are just a short drive away. All of them have stunning gardens to walk around. The medieval city of York is only an hour away. If you want to leave the car behind, just walk around the corner and catch one of the hourly trains direct to the centre and spend a day in the beautiful city. There's so much to see and do in York, visit the Minster, the Shambles or just have a leisurely cruise along the river. For a great family holiday, S41150 has everything. Shop 300 yards, pub 200 yards and restaurant 300 yards.
