Young children always love being able to see the chickens the owners' have. The cottage has a sunny and modern interior and is set in several acres of beautiful grounds. The large family bedroom has a double bed with a folding child's bed, or a crib or a cot whatever is needed to suit your party. The outside enclosed grounds means that this cottage is a real winner for families with small children.
Taking its name from the nearby Hatterall Ridge there are the most wonderful views out across the valley, the owners even have telescope for guests to view the stunning night skies. S40208 is an ideal location for those wishing to walk Offa's Dyke, the Black Mountains or explore the magnificent Llanthony Valley. The cottage is very well placed for some good restaurants and gastro-pubs, Enjoy the atmospheric Skirrid Inn – reputed to be Wales' oldest pub or sample the delights of The Walnut Tree or The Hardwick, both award winners. Bring your mountain bike and ride from Abergavenny to Hay on route NCN route 42 Sustrans Celtic Trail. Cottage Accommodation:
Sleeps 2/4 – 1Double
A modern and well-fitted kitchen with an electric hob, fan oven and a microwave. There is also a dishwasher, larder fridge and freezer.
The bright and airy sitting/dining room has a dining table and chairs, comfortable sofa (a sofa bed) and chairs and a large TV with DVD and video player. Double doors making the most of the fabulous panoramic view over to The Hatterell Ridge and Offa's Dyke, lead out to the garden.
The shower room is modern and newly fitted with a large shower, handbasin and toilet.
Upstairs to
Bedroom 1: The large bedroom with double bed. This room can also be used with another upstairs sofabed , a cot and a crib if required.

Try The Rising Sun just a few minutes walk down in the village with a great new Carvery or The Pandy Inn offering really good Pub Grub or try The Park Hotel – all within a few minutes walk down the lane where weddings are often held – so a great place to stay if attending a wedding there.
Enjoy the huge family-friendly garden – Grab a glass of something cool and head out through the double doors from the living room onto your front garden. Collect the Frisbee, football or boles set and make your way through the gateway to your 2 acre fenced and mown paddock. This space is wonderful for garden games and is a safe, enclosed environment for the children to play in – just watch out for the hens!
Leave the grocery shopping for another day – The owners of S40208 realise that going on a self-catering holiday can mean a big grocery shop on top of a long journey. In order to take the stress out of packing there is a standard or luxury grocery pack service available on discussion. Contents include staples like tea, coffee, milk and cornflakes, whilst the luxury pack allows you to prepare a full cooked breakfast on your first morning. A shooting enthusiast's dream – Whilst there are many outdoor activities to do in this area, S40208 is the place to stay if you enjoy or would like a to try your hand at clay pigeon shooting. Sarah, the owner of this cottage was the first British female ever to earn a place on the GB Olympic shooting team and represented her country in Athens in 2004. On discussion Sarah would be happy to take enthusiasts to the local Clay Pigeon Club for a little tuition.
Abergavenny is only 7 miles with the railway station – so this could be a place for visitors with no car as there is a very good taxi service as the owners are very happy to do a grocery shop for you. Also it is an easy drive to Hereford only 12 miles – so just a quick drive to perhaps visit The Cathedral and The Mappa Mundi.
