To the south of Fourstones lie the North Pennines with the picturesque towns of Allendale, Alston and Blanchland all within easy reach and perfect for a day trip. To the north lies the beautiful North Tyne Valley and Kielder Water which offer guests the opportunity to take part in many outdoor sports or even a spot of stargazing in this non light polluted area. Newcastle upon Tyne, Gateshead for the Metro Centre, Durham and the wonderful sandy beaches of the Northumberland Coast can all be reached in just over an hour's drive too, making S59523 the perfect base for touring.
