Take the Corran Ferry to the Ardnamurchan Peninsula, or enjoy a boat trip to one of the Inner Hebrides and explore the isles of Mull, Staffa and Iona. A ride on the famous Jacobite Steam Train from Fort William to Mallaig is not to be missed, and for a fantastic day out, travel up Aonach Mor mountain in a gondola at Nevis Range.
A variety of sporting activities are available locally, including climbing, skiing, golfing, mountain biking, fishing, canoeing and sailing. For the less energetic, there are plenty of gentle forest walks, museums, distilleries, castles, gardens and monuments to visit.
