St Austell , 1.5 miles away, has a larger selection of shops, a leisure centre and a main line railway station linked with a local bus service. For garden lovers, the Eden Project , Lost Gardens of Heligan and Pine Lodge Gardens are all within a short drive.

The bustling harbour villages of Mevagissey and Fowey are both within 7 miles and there are several golf courses close by, with the nearest being Carlyon Bay , 1.5 miles away. The sandy beaches of Par and Porthpean are within a 15 minute drive with dogs being allowed at Par all year round and Porthpean operating a seasonal dog ban from Good Friday to 1st October.
