The holiday cottage is close to the Skirrid Mountain, Sugar Loaf, Llantony Valley, Offa's Dyke Path in The Black Mountains. Abergavenny, famed for the food festival is just 5 miles, and close to the Crown at Pant-y-Gelli.
This well and traditionally restored Old S40112 was re-built in 1778, it is believed to have originally been built in the late 1400's and was the S40112 to the Lower Stanton Farmhouse until 1958 with its cider press and wheel. There are many of the original features with the ancient oak beams and oak floor boards upstairs, the original old granary steps and signs of where the cider press once stood.
This cottage is ideal for two couples perhaps with children, or four single people with the bedroom layouts.
The busy owners, who run a large milking herd of cows at a neighbouring farm, are very friendly and hospitable and also offer Bed and Breakfast in the farmhouse if there are extra friends or family members wishing to come to stay. The small village of Llanfihangel Crucorney is approximately 1 mile and has a busy village shop cum garage, and there are several very good pubs and restaurants in the near vicinity including the “most haunted pub in Britain” The Skirrid Inn.

A very spacious, warm and welcoming downstairs with the kitchen with a hand made oak kitchen with a built-in fan assisted electric oven with hob, a microwave, integrated fridge & freezer and a dishwasher.
There is a utility room with a washing machine, tumble dryer and the oil central heating boiler.
Downstairs cloakroom with handbasin and toilet .
The large living area has a long oak dining table and chairs, sofas and chairs and an electric “woodburning effect stove” set in a stone fireplace, a TV with Freeview and DVD.
Upstairs to:
Bedroom 1: The Master Bedroom has a double bed and a single bed with an en-suite bathroom with a lovely “roll top” bath with hand-held shower over, handbasin and toilet . TV. Ancient stone granary steps lead out of this bedroom down to the garden below or there is a covered balcony area at the top of the steps where one could just sit and watch the sheep in the meadows below and the sunlight on the hills beyond.
Bedroom 2: The second bedroom also has a double bed and a single bed, TV and has an en-suite shower room with an excellent power shower, hand basin and toilet.
Looking out of the windows there are lovely views of the water meadows with sheep and cattle grazing against the back drop of the hills. Outside the cottage there is a spacious enclosed lawned area with a large Larch tree and ample parking close to the house. The farm is on the road leading up to The Llantony Valley so is in a brilliant location for anyone wishing to explore The Black Mountains, walk Offa's Dyke Path, The Brecon Beacons and the Herfordshire Border Country. There are several local pubs within easy reach – The Queens Head and The Skirrid Inn are probably the closest and in Llanfihangle Crucorney there is a thriving little shop to buy the essentials.
