The apartment, which is located on the village green, is split over two floors. On the ground floor, which is warmed by underfloor heating, is a well-equipped kitchen/dining room and a family bathroom with large bath. The first floor living and bedroom area is open plan, making it a very bright and airy space. The lounge area has a fantastic wood burner and in the bedroom area is a kingsize bed with an additional 26 single and a small sofa bed, both for a child. The bedroom leads out onto a balcony from which to take in the sounds of nature and all the fresh country air.
The village of Dent, with its charming cobbled streets, stunning scenery and excellent walks, has a local store, post office, a couple of pubs and a heritage centre/tea room. The village also hosts various events and activities throughout the year.
Dent railway station, which is on the famous Settle to Carlisle railway, is the highest railway station in Britain, at approximately 1100 feet above sea level. From here you can take a scenic journey to the surrounding towns of Hawes, Sedbergh, Leyburn, Giggleswick, Kirby Lonsdale, Skipton and Ingleton. Should you wish to travel a bit further you can go to Carlisle, 90 minutes by train, or Leeds, 1 hour 30 minutes.
Although Dent is situated within the Yorkshire Dales National Park it is technically part of Cumbria, so you also have the Lake District, which can be reached in 1 hour by car, or a 20-minute train journey from Oxenholme to Windermere, making this the ideal location for those who love the great outdoors. Walkers, runners, cyclists, nature lovers, bird watchers and artists are well catered for and S81428 is the perfect base to relax and unwind after the days activities. For those who prefer something a bit more adventurous why not try climbing Yorkshires 3 peaks, potholing at one of the many caves in the area, or even a spot of sailing in the beautiful Lakes. There is a public phone outside the library, which is just a short walk from the apartment. Shop 250 yards, pubs serving food 150 yards.
