The attractive village of Cononley lies in Airedale, four miles south of Skipton. The village's 17th century heritage is still visible in some of the buildings, with an even greater number remaining from the villages heyday as a 19th century centre for hand loom weaving and lead mining. There are two pubs, a Post Office/village store, a Chinese take-away and a mainline railway station with links to Leeds, Skipton and the famous Settle to Carlisle Railway line.
