Ideally located for exploring the Brontë Country, there is also Eureka! The National Children's Museum (for big and little kids), which can be reached in about 10 minutes, Shibden Estate with its park and hall in 15 minutes and the Yorkshire Sculpture Park with its modern and contemporary art in around half an hour. For outdoor enthusiasts, Calderdale has notoriously hilly terrain for keen cyclists, but it also offers excellent riding for families in the form of the National Cycle Network Route 66, a flat cycle route that follows the valley floor from Walsden to Brighouse. Visitors can also get involved with Sky Ride Local, which offers free rides by a qualified guide across Calderdale. For those however who prefer to stay on two feet, there is the circular Calderdale Way, which is a long-distance footpath incorporating moorland, woodland paths and canal towpath.
