During your stay, enjoy food and drink at the welcoming countryside pub. Chittlehamholt is a charming rural village, which also has a community run shop a short distance away. There is also a well-equipped sports pavilion where non paying guests can visit and enjoy the great range of facilities, including a heated indoor swimming pool.

Head towards Barnstaple with access to some of the best beaches in the country, including Woolacombe and Saunton. The nearest beach at Instow is ideal for children or just a great place to walk off life's stresses, and then enjoy a meal or drink at one of the pubs and restaurants along the front. Barnstaple has many amenities, as well as a busy high street, markets and Butchers Row. There are numerous places of interest close by including the RHS gardens at Rosemoor, Dartington Crystal and the historic fishing village of Clovelly. National Trust properties can be found at Arlington, Castle Drogo and Knightshayes Court. For the younger ones, the Big Sheep or Milky Way adventure parks make a great day out. There is walking on Dartmoor, Exmoor and the South West Coastal Path, or hire a bike and cycle the Tarka Trail. Fishing and golf are available locally.
