Upper Barn Holiday Cottage is situated on the southern edge of the Snowdonia National Park in the beautiful Dovey Forest in Powys, Mid Wales.
The property is about 1.5 miles from the village of Aberangell and 7 minutes' drive from the A470 which provides easy access to the surrounding countryside and coast. The cottage is approached along a tarmac track along the river Angel.
Nestled in a tranquil setting within the owners 23 acres of hill pasture and woodland. Mallwyd village is close by and has a pub, shop and filling station. Machynlleth is about 10 miles to the south and Dolgellau is about 12 miles to the north.
The barn is approached by a flight of external stone steps, thereafter it is on one level.
Entrance is into the open-plan living room with kitchen, sitting and dining areas.
The sitting area is furnished with a comfortable L-shaped sofa, coffee table, occasional furniture, colour TV, DVD and CD player. A velux cabrio balcony roof window opens out to overlook the garden.
The kitchen is fitted with a range of pine units incorporating electric cooker, fridge and microwave.
The owner offers shared use of an automatic washing machine, tumble drier and freezer space which is always accessible to guests.
The dining area has a dining table with 4 chairs.
There are two spacious bedrooms which will be made up with fresh linen and duvets for your arrival.
bedroom 1 has a kingsize pine sleigh bed with freestanding hand painted wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside tables, and a stable door onto a large area of decking and a further velux cabrio window enabling guests to enjoy the views of the garden and along the valley.
bedroom 2 has a double bed, built in wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside tables and velux windows. The beds will all be made up with fresh linen and duvets for your arrival.
The newly fitted shower room has a large walk in shower, wall hung WC and seperate vanity unit with washbasin with shaver point above.
Garden and Parking
49 species of bird have been recorded (including our resident Eagle Owls) in the landscaped garden, extending to 2 acres and encompassing a lake creating a haven for plant and animal life. There is seating throughout the garden and walks around the adjacent fields take in the newly constructed lower pond incorporating an otter holt.
There is ample parking for several cars by the barn.
Other Information
There is oil central heating throughout the cottage which is included in the rental from May to September and charged for at a flat rate of £30 per week at all other times. Please pay at the property.
A travel cot and highchair are available.
Smoking is not permitted in the cottage.
Towels are included in the rental.
One well behaved pet is welcome but must BE stock proof and House Trained as there are free range hens, ducks and sheep in the area. Sorry no Puppies
