For those who like a more leisurely stroll there's the Cinder Path which is the old railway that goes from Whitby to Scarborough, over 20 miles of flat walking. The resorts of Robin Hood's Bay, Sandsend, Staithes and Scarborough are all a short drive away. Abbeydale is a great base to visit the east coast, the North York Moors and the Wolds. Beach 500 yards.
