Within easy driving, one can spend lovely days out enjoying Forde Abbey and Gardens, an adventurous time at Yeovilton Fleet Air Arm Museum or perhaps visiting the Haynes International Motor Museum. There are many historic houses in the area, and the south coast is within easy reach, where you can explore the famous scenic World Heritage Jurassic Coast, taking in Lyme Regis, Seaton, Sidmouth and Beer. Slightly further afield is the city of Exeter, with its cathedral, catacombs and shops, and the beautiful Blackdown Hills. Inland, one can venture into Somerset and enjoy Clarks Factory Village at Street, Glastonbury Tor, and on to Cheddar Gorge and Caves. There is also great country walking and plenty of village pubs to wine and dine in. Beach 10 miles. Shop 1 mile, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.
