With views from the garden of the surrounding hills and Exmoor (where deer or wild ponies can be spotted), you can walk onto Exmoor from the door. Located just outside the seaside town of Minehead, the cottage is an ideal destination for those looking to enjoy both land and sea. Well-appointed and presented, the cottage works well as a base from which to explore the stunning surrounding countryside or somewhere to hide away from the world for a few days. The cosy living room with its wood burner is a great place in which to relax and unwind. Stable doors open out onto the large, detached garden at the rear of the property which guests can use.
The cottage is a short walk away from Minehead's High Street, which is lined with an array of shops, restaurants and cafés. There is also the beach and promenade to enjoy, and the main station for the famous West Somerset Steam Railway is also found close to the town centre, with its 26 miles of track through beautiful scenery.
There is superb scenery and walking starting from Minehead along the South West Coastal Path, or inland on Exmoor National Park, and many other places to visit to make your holiday here truly memorable. The Victorian villages of Lynmouth and Lynton, famous for the National Trust's Watersmeet Gorge, the Valley of the Rocks and the funicular cliff railway are all well worth a visit. The National Trust owned Dunster Castle and village, with its beautiful terraced gardens, deer park and mill, make for an interesting day out, as does Porlock Weir and the ancient harbour port of Watchet. There are further beaches at Dunster and Blue Anchor for all to enjoy. Beach 1 mile. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.
