Sandown and Shanklin, on the east side, have fine sandy beaches and Ventnor, at the southern tip, with its Botanic gardens, is huddled between steep, wooded cliffs. The farmhouse is a registered mountain bike centre for the Isle of Wight, there is an approximately 3 mile bike trail from the farm. Para-gliding, riding and golf can also be arranged (at cost).
