Udiam Farm was formerly the Guinness Hop Farm, and S59196 was once home to the Guinness horses that pulled the wagons, laden with hops. The farm overlooks the River Rother and part of the Kent and East Sussex Steam Railway (used around six times a year for special events). Its trains steam through 10½ miles of countryside from Tenterden to the moated Bodiam Castle. Take a stroll across the grounds to this fairytale 14th century castle where you can also ride the Kent and East Sussex steam railway. Indulge in a meal at the local Michelin starred restaurant and sample the excellent local wines from award winning vineyards. Battle is 8 miles, Royal Tunbridge Wells is a half hour drive, as are the coastal towns of Eastbourne, Hastings, Bexhill-on-Sea and Rye. There are good train services to London from Robertsbridge for additional sightseeing. Fishing and golf are available locally. Beach 15 miles. Shop 2½ miles, pub 5 miles and restaurant 1¼ miles.
