Property Description
This spacious detached cottage makes a peaceful rural retreat with a river running through the grounds, and is surrounded by open countryside. The cottage has a multi-fuel burner to keep you warm on chilly evenings and for summer days there is a garden to sit out in and enjoy the sunshine. The cottage is located only 8 miles from the bustling harbour town of Stranraer situated at the head of Loch Ryan. This is the gateway to the Rhinns of Galloway, and for more than a century was a busy ferry port for transport between south-west Scotland and Northern Ireland. The town's main attraction is the Castle of St John, a ruined four-story tower house built around 1500, which sits in the main street. Stranraer Museum can be found in the old town hall and is worth paying a visit.
