The cottage is situated in the grounds of the owner's home which is part of an initiative to develop lowland crofting in central Scotland and so has lots of surrounding space with good walks from the doorstep, with Blawhorn Moss Nature Reserve nearby. There is a wide range of activities to enjoy like the family friendly country parks at Beecraigs and Polkemmet, 5 Sisters Zoo, the Falkirk Wheel and the magnificent Kelpies, two 30-metre high horse-head sculptures. Trout fishing is available at Hillend Reservoir (licence required) just over three miles away.
