The medieval town of York has its own history and tourist attractions in abundance from the National Railway Museum to the Jorvik Viking Centre. Thirsk, Ripon, Yarm, Northallerton, Pickering and Leyburn are all close by and offer all of the welcoming hospitality that the county is famous for. The Gothic town of Whitby and Victorian resort of Scarborough are just over an hour away if you fancy a trip to the seaside and the Yorkshire Heritage Coast. Beach 26 miles.
