S71693 is an idyllic romantic round tower hideaway for two situated in the beautiful Lower Wye Valley, designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and straddling the border between England and Wales.

A pretty 10 minute walk away is The Boat Inn (which serves a selection of guest ales and great pub food) and the old railway bridge where you can take a walk into England.

It's a perfect spot for exploring Offa's Dyke, Monmouth, Chepstow , Abergavenny, Hereford, Cardiff, Hay-on-Wye, Cheltenham and Bristol all within an hour's drive.

The cottage is one of the last on the former Duke of Beaufort's Estate and the stunning tower is a real “find” and one not to be missed.

Set out over four levels, the entrance leads you into the cottage kitchen, which has a high vaulted and beamed ceiling with chandeliers and a flagstone floor. There is a stone inglenook with Rayburn range, ideal for toasting your feet after a long walk, and the kitchen is fully fitted with a range of bespoke oak cupboards and worktops. Facilities include an electric oven and gas hob, Rayburn range, dishwasher, fridge freezer, microwave oven and there is an antique pine dining table and 4 chairs.

From the kitchen a hallway leads to the round tower with several short flights of curved steps leading you to the 3 levels.

On the first floor is the very spacious and luxurious circular bathroom with a white suite of freestanding roll top bath, separate curved shower cubicle, WC and wash hand basin.

On the next floor is the circular bedroom which has a double brass bedstead, hat stand hanging rail, chest of drawers, bedside tables and 4 slit windows giving views of the garden and woodland. The bed will be made up with fresh crisp linen for your arrival and towels are provided.

More curved steps lead to a door which opens onto the drawbridge and out into the garden and woodland.

Continuing on up S71693 tower, the final flight of curved steps lead to the sitting room which has an oak floor and is furnished with a comfortable sofa, Windsor chair, coffee table, colour TV, DVD player, bookcase with a good selection of books and games and an unusual cartwheel light fitting.

Glorious views of the Wye Valley.
