Set just outside the picturesque Victorian spa village of Strathpeffer where you can visit the Spa Room and sample the waters, the Highland Museum of Childhood, the Pictish Eagle Stone or you could just stroll around the village to see some fabulous examples of Victorian architecture. In the heart of the village is The Spa Pavilion, a historic venue which hosts numerous live musical performances, craft and art exhibitions and in the summer time, you can enjoy the stirring sounds of the Strathpeffer Pipe Band performing in The Square. From Strathpeffer you can enjoy a visit to Inverness, the Highland Capital which offers very good shopping and entertainment, the famous Loch Ness where you can enjoy a boat trip and hopefully catch sight of the monster, or take a dolphin cruise along the beautiful Moray Coast. A trip along the Moray Malt Whisky Trail is recommended. Visit the stunning Brodie and Cawdor Castles and Culloden battlefield just outside Inverness. Explore the Black Isle with its many lovely villages, beaches and historic sites. The west coast and the Isle of Skye are an easy drive and a day trip to the Orkney Isles is highly recommended. Amongst the many activities available in the area are mountain biking, golf with Strathpeffer boasting a challenging 18 hole course, numerous watersports, hill climbing, horse riding and paint balling just to name but a few.
