The area is steeped in history and the landscape diverse, its a haven for artists, birdwatchers and walkers. The Mull of Galloway, with its turf-roofed visitor centre, is Scotland's most southerley point with amazing views of Ireland, England, Isle of Man and Scotland. Close by is the Castle Kennedy Gardens, with the castle, two lochs, a giant lily pond and an avenue of monkey puzzle trees. Logan Botanic Gardens are home to exotic ferns, palm trees and boasts a beautiful walled garden. Take the high speed ferry to Ireland from Cairnryan for a spot of sightseeing or a shopping trip in Belfast. Beach 3 miles. Local village shop/Post Office for basic provisions, 200 yards.
