Overlooking Peasholm Park and just a short stroll from the beach, this terraced property is perfect for a family holiday. With its own private parking, this is a very desirable property close to the seafront. From the house you can walk down to North Bay within a couple of minutes, and there are plenty of bars and restaurants close by. Peasholm Park is situated just in front of the property and has a very popular boating lake where you can hire rowing boats, canoes and pedalos. Sail around the lake and take in the beautiful scenery and gardens. Throughout the summer the park hosts the “Battle of Peasholm Naval Battle', a miniature sea battle re-enactment which is excellent fun for the children.
Scarborough has two bays, North and South Bay, and the long Marine Walk of over 3 miles which connects the two. North Bay is the quieter of the two with its traditional beach huts and donkey rides, whereas the South Bay has amusements, shops and bars.
The famous Scarborough Cricket Ground is just around the corner, home to county cricket and a great way to spend a relaxing afternoon. Within a short drive you can be in Whitby, Filey, Flamborough Head and Bridlington, all great traditional seaside resorts on the east coast. Call at Bempton Cliffs, the rspb bird sanctuary, where you will see thousands of puffins and other migrating seabirds. Within an hour you can be in the cities of Hull and York. Hull has been voted the city of culture for 2017, so is well worth a visit during your stay. York never fails to impress, with great shopping, fantastic history, museums, theatres and the famous minster, the largest gothic cathedral in northern Europe. The cobbled streets are full of life with street entertainers and independent cafés, where you can just sit and watch the world go by. Both Hull and York are accessible by train from Scarborough. For those of you who enjoy walking, the Cleveland Way runs through Scarborough on its final stretch down to Filey, with lots of wonderful cliff top walks with stunning scenery and rugged coastlines. Beach 300 yards. Shop, pub and restaurant 100 yards.
