S46197 is located in a quiet cul-de-sac, approximately half a mile from Rhuddlan. There is a large supermarket close by and many family friendly pubs, takeaways and restaurants all within a 10-minute walk. At the end of the road there is a bus stop with services into Rhyl, Prestatyn, St Asaph and Denbigh. The village has a small selection of shops as well as a library, beauty spa and of course Rhuddlan Castle which dates back to the 13th Century.

Rhyl, which is one of the most popular beach resorts for families, has attractions including the Seaquarium, Drift Park, Marine Lake and the miniature railway. There is also a park with tennis courts, bowling green and botanical gardens. Prestatyn, four and a half miles, is another very popular seaside resort along the north Wales coast. Apart from its sandy beaches there is also a great retail park and the fantastic Nova leisure centre which offers swimming, gymnasium, fitness clases, cafe and a great children's soft play area. Should you prefer a more old fashioned seaside experience, the Victorian town of Llandudno is just 20 miles away.

Other places of interest within easy driving distance include Bodelwyddan Castle, St Asaph, Bodnant Gardens and Colwyn Bay. Further afield yet still under an hour away are Llangollen, Snowdonia and Anglesey. Perfect for those who love the outdoors with lots of activities available locally to suit all tastes and abilities. Enjoy a pleasant coastal walk or follow the River Clwyd, Dyserth Waterfalls and Offa's Dyke which passes through Prestatyn. Ideal for cyclists and mountain bikers, the north Wales coast national cycle route links Gronant, Prestatyn, Rhyl, Kinmel Bay and Abergele, and is almost completely traffic free. There are two cycle routes starting in Prestatyn which take in the picturesque Dyserth Waterfalls, Barkby Beach and Frith Beach. Marsh Trails in Rhyl has a BMX track with coaching and equipment hire available. Serious cyclists may want to venture further afield to Llandegla Forest, 26 miles. For those that don't have their own bikes, there is a cycle hire shop in Prestatyn.

Being close to the coast, there is a wide variety of beach activities and water sports on offer including kite surfing, sailing, water skiing, wakeboarding and kneeboarding. Golf is available within a mile, or for something different why not try paintballing at St George, six miles, or ZipWorld Titan in Blaenau Ffestiniog, 42 miles, which is also home to Bounce Below, where you can jump on giant trampolines in the underground caverns. Hot tubs can be hired locally. There are cinemas in Prestatyn and Rhyl, which also has a small theatre.
