From Baltimore, you can get ferries to Sherkin and Cape Clear Islands, or take a trip to Fastnet Rock. Skibbereen is just under 4 miles away and has a very good choice of pubs, restaurants and shops, along with an 18-hole golf course, heritage centre and farmers' country markets on Friday and Saturday. Shop and restaurant 3¾ miles, pub 2 miles.
