Discover this delightful detached lodge, on the outskirts of the pretty highland village of St Fillans, in the Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park. Nestled away on a hillside with breathtaking views of Loch Earn and the hills beyond, this is the perfect location for a romantic escape. The decked area to the front of the lodge is the best spot for relaxing with a glass of fizz, whilst watching the boats or a red squirrel feeding in the garden. You may even catch a sight of ospreys feeding on the loch. Start your day with breakfast in bed and enjoy the lovely view from your bedroom. The Tarken burn runs through the natural woodland garden, which leads direct to the forest and the old railway route where you can walk or cycle to Comrie.
There is a local hotel and pub within a short walk, which provides excellent food and drink, including a selection of fine whisky. The village also has a café and a shop, where you can purchase a fishing license and get expert advice. For the more adventurous, there are some challenging hills and mountains to climb to get the most amazing views of this stunning area, which is surrounded by loch, hills and glens. Loch Earn hosts many varied watersports activities, and for golfers, there is a lovely 9-hole course in the village, as well as the world renowned course at Gleneagles, St Andrews and many more. The Victorian tourist town of Callander is just a 20-minute drive away. Here, you can explore historic castles, gardens and monuments, whisky distilleries, visitor attractions and wildlife parks. Once you arrive back at the lodge after a busy day, head for the whirlpool bath to soak away those tired muscles and then curl up on the cosy sofa in front of the wood burner and plan your next day.
