The harbour shops and restaurants are a 3-minute stroll away, or why not take a boat trip to Torquay and Dartmouth for a day's fishing? The coastal path is easily accessed, leading to lovely beaches and coves, and the popular Fishcombe Cove is at the end of the road. Brixham forms the third part of Torbay, the other two being Torquay and Paignton. The bay is known as the English Riviera due to its unique micro-climate. Walkers and navigators can explore the depths of Dartmoor, spot wild Dartmoor ponies and cross ancient stone bridges spanning the clear bubbly waters of the River Dart, as well as other rivers. You can also feel the somewhat eerie presence of the tors, seven rocky hills presiding majestically over the moors. Take the ferry across to Dartmouth, the neighbouring town to Brixham and make your way across the River Dart. At the mouth of the river you will find Kingswear and Dartmouth castles, both with the rocky waters of the estuary lapping at their feet. There are many National Trust properties nearby and Agatha Christie's summer house is also well worth a visit. Beach ½ mile. Shop, pub and restaurant 100 yards.
