The single-storey, detached lodges are set well apart in secluded, landscaped grounds offering spectacular outlooks over the Cromarty Firth towards Ben Wyvis and the mountains of Ross-shire.
Millbuie Forest, immediately behind the lodges, has a vast network of roads and paths suitable for walking and cycling. The forest is home to pine martens, wildcats, roe deer and many species of birds including red kites and buzzards. Dolphins and seals are often seen in the waters around the Black Isle along with the great variety of wildlife making this a paradise for nature lovers. The picturesque seaside villages of Cromarty, Rosemarkie and Fortrose are a short journey from Wester Brae, each village has different and fascinating aspects. Access to sandy beaches is easy and seaside rock pools are a source of wonder for younger visitors. A network of walking paths cover the Black Isle with the clifftop path from Cromarty to Rosemarkie being a particular favourite. For sport enthusiasts, golf, mountain biking, climbing and water sports are all available nearby. Day trips to Loch Ness, the Orkney Islands, Isle of Skye and Inverness are recommended, or relax in the comfort of your chair and watch the changing scenery of this lovely part of the Highlands.
