There are several great places to eat here inlcuidng afternoon tea and local seafood catch lunches and dinner. Portland stone is famous the world over and most notably for being the stone that St Paul's Cathedral is constructed from. The Quarries are no longer active in the traditional sense but there are many walks and Tout Quarry offers the added surprise of sculptures and etchings are you wander around the rugged scenes. Portland is also renowned for its rare and varied wild life and birds as well as multiple water sports, so there is much to be found on the doorstep, but if you would like to explore more of the Jurassic Coastline, Weymouth is a short 10 -15 minute drive away with its Georgian seafront, award winning beach, and high street shops.
