The property backs onto Kendal Green, a popular picnic spot and quiet oasis in the heart of Kendal. This traditional market town offers a wealth of historic buildings, and popular visitor attractions include The Brewery Arts Centre, Abbot Hall Art Gallery and the castle ruins. Kendal also has an excellent variety of shops, cafés, pubs, restaurants and museums, as well as a cinema, climbing wall and leisure centre with swimming pool.
One of the most popular activities here is walking, and Kendal certainly offers an abundance of great walking and hiking opportunities, with lots of tracks and trails in and around the local area. Located just 2 miles from town is Scout Scar with panoramic views of the surrounding valleys and the Lakeland Fells beyond. Other popular outdoor activities nearby include cycling, horse riding, sailing, fishing and climbing. There are also two golf courses within a mile.
Regarded as the southern gateway to the Lake District, Kendal is a great base from which to explore the Lakes as well as the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Thanks to its proximity to the M6, it is very accessible from all over the UK. Kendal also has excellent public transport services with regular buses and trains. Places of interest within easy driving distance include Sizergh Castle, Levens Hall and Gardens, Staveley, Lake Windermere, Sedbergh, Kirkby Lonsdale and all of the fabulous towns, villages, fells, mountains and sights which make up the stunning Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks.
