There is also fishing on the nearby Chew Valley lakes.

There are many other activities available in the area including hill walking, pot-holing, climbing, pony trekking and foraging with local guides. The neighbouring village of Butcombe hosts Aldwick Court Vineyard where tours and sampling can be arranged. The imposing 300m ridge of the Mendip Hills is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, stretching eastward from the Bristol Channel, rising like a rampart above the Somerset Levels. Near the barn, Burrington Combe is a perfect starting point for many wonderful walks and rides. The bottom of the Combe has a café/restaurant which is an ideal stop for tea and cake or an ice-cream. Further afield is Bristol, the Roman city of Bath, the city of Wells and Wells Cathedral, the Somerset Levels & moors, Cheddar Gorge and Caves, Wookey Hole Caves, Glastonbury Tor and Abbey or for some retail therapy, visit Clarks Village designer outlet shopping centre at Street. For long sandy beaches and Victorian seaside resorts, visit Weston-super-Mare, Clevedon, Brean, Berrow and Burnham-on-Sea. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.
