Delightful Saltburn By The Sea Apartment

4 People|2 Bedrooms|

Property Description

The S76023 is a contemporary 2 bedroom apartment in the heart of the seaside town of Redcar, and is just a 5-minute walk from one of the longest unbroken stretches of beach in Britain, running from South Gare to Saltburn. Stroll along the regenerated Redcar esplanade, the beach, or venture into the sea for a paddle. The stretch of beach near Redcar Lifeboat Station has gained a Seaside Award for its cleanliness and good water quality. Redcar's beach is perfect for building sandcastles, winkling and relaxing in the sun. Two miles south is Marske-by-the-Sea, a quiet part of the coast where boats still group on the slipway. Take a cliff top stroll around to Saltburn-by-the-Sea. With the famous Saltburn Pier as a backdrop, traditional seaside fun mixes effortlessly with a café culture and a range of unique eating establishments. Enjoy a seaside holiday experience with the whole family, or take part in the water activities. Cattersty Sands in Skinningrove is a long stretch of sandy beach with rocks at either end, along with a pier in the middle. The beach forms part of the Cleveland Way.

Redcar is just on the edge of the North York Moors National Park so is ideally situated for those who want to sample some of the prettiest countryside in the county, with its hundreds of pubs and restaurants serving home cooked food and a warming welcome in most villages. Take a nostalgic ride on the steam train that chugs its way from Whitby deep into the heart of the North York Moors, “Heartbeat' country and Pickering. Alternatively, explore the many bays and coves along the Heritage Coast such as Robin Hood's Bay, Runswick Bay or Staithes. Each has its own historical story of pirates and smuggling.

The harbour town of Whitby is just 20 miles away and is an experience of its own. Home of Whitby Abbey which was made famous by Bram Stoker's 'Dracula', cobbled back streets, quirky shops and Whitby harbour. Keep an eye out for the many festivals and events held here each year from a regatta to a Goth festival, or take a sea fishing trip on one of the many tourist boats.

Redcar is served by a great road network which means you can visit attractions such as Lightwater Valley, Flamingo Land or Beamish Museum in a day, or take a day out and visit the walled city of York with its museums including the National Railway Museum which is now home to The Flying Scotsman.

Northumberland to the north is again well within driving distance and worth a day of exploration, home to Alnwick Castle, made famous in the Harry Potter stories as Hogwarts, or the Island of Lindisfarne if you time the tide correctly! Shop, pub and restaurant 400 yards.
