The area has some outstanding coastal walks and nearby Newlyn is famous for its fish market and art galleries. This is a perfect base from which to explore West and South Cornwall, with easy access to Land's End and the beautiful Sennen Cove, popular with surfers and sun worshippers. Visit Lamorna Cove and Porthcurno, with the Minack Theatre cut in to the rock face overlooking the ocean. The historic town of Marazion is just a short drive with St Michaels Mount rising from the sea like a fairytale castle. The mount can be reached on foot at low tide or by small boat at high tide. The busy town and harbour at Penzance provides a great range of shops, bars and cafés and has a long promenade with an open air lido. It is possible to walk all the way from Mousehole to Penzance via Newlyn along the coast. There is a daily ferry service from Penzance to the beautiful Isles of Scilly or regular small aircraft service from Land's End airport. Take the scenic coastal train from St Erth to St Ives, passing the Hayle Estuary and some of Cornwall's finest beaches.
