There's much to enjoy in all directions; for guests with a thirst for knowledge there's the Fleet Air Arm Museum or the popular historic Haynes Motor Car Museum, with its vast collection of classic cars. Within easy driving distance is Clarks Village, the famous Cheddar Gorge and Caves, Wookey Hole and Caves, the enchanting Glastonbury Tor and of course the city of Wells' stunning cathedral with its Bishops Palace.
For a relaxing day out or a trip back in time, maybe the West Somerset Steam Railway will fit the bill, as it chugs its way through some of the most delightful countryside in Somerset. Along with many historic houses, such as Montacute House and Gardens and Forde Abbey and Gardens to name a few, you will certainly not be short of attractions to visit. Further afield, the spa city of Bath features prominent Roman baths, museums and shops, and if you're heading southward into Dorset, there are a number of traditional seaside resorts scattered along the Jurassic Coast, such as Lyme Regis, West Bay and Weymouth.
For those who'd rather stay a little closer to home, there are many picturesque country walks, golf nearby, fishing and some warm and welcoming village pubs to wine and dine in. Beach 25 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant ½ mile.
