This cute cottage is a great base for exploring everything that Sussex has to offer and the accommodation provides everything you could need for your self-catering holiday. The 'snug' lounge has two comfortable sofas and direct access onto the patio terrace in the garden. The second lounge has a wood burning stove and also an extendable dining table for four. Entertainment is available via Smart television, DVD player and Wifi throughout the property.
The spacious kitchen has all modern conveniences including a fridge, electric hob/ oven and a washing machine. There is also a breakfast dining table in this area. There are also pubs close by should you wish to avoid the chore of cooking on your holiday.
There are two bedrooms, also on the ground floor, a double bedroom and a twin bedroom. The compact bathroom is located off the kitchen and has a half bath with shower overhead, WC and basin.
The garden area of S85523 is a wonderful space to sit out and enjoy the wonderful South Downs views. There is a table and four chairs provided as well as a large BBQ for when alfresco dining is an option!

Bury and beyond
S85523 has the advantage of offering a countryside setting and yet has easy access to many local attractions within in minutes. There are plenty of walks and bridleways walking directly from the cottage and you walk up Bury Hill to access the South Downs Way direct at the brow. The South Downs Way is one of 15 National Trails in England and Wales and was the first bridleway National Trail in England. It is also the only National Trail to lie entirely within a National Park. Stretching from the ancient cathedral city of Winchester in the west, first capital of England, through to the white chalky cliffs of the Seven Sisters and Beachy Head at Eastbourne in the east, almost all of its stunning 100 mile length is blissfully off-road.
The lovely village of Amberley is a lovely walk from Bury and is a village that has managed to retain its character and appeal over the centuries as it is noted for its many thatched cottages. This is also the location of the Amberley Working Museum a 36 acre open air museum set into a chalk quarry and dedicated to the industrial heritage of South East England. Depending on the timing of your visit there are many themed events so it is worth taking a look to see what is on.

This historic market town of Petworth is four miles to the north and is best known as the location of the stately home Petworth House and deer park which was landscaped by Capability Brown. The house and its grounds are now owned and maintained by the National Trust. The town itself is full of quaint houses and they are interspersed with antique shops and tearooms so it is worth taking the time to browse having visited Petworth House.
The Sussex coast is less than ten miles drive from the cottage with both Climping Beach and Littlehampton's West Beach providing a lovely coastal day out. Other attractions in the area include events at the Goodwood Estate such as the Festival of Speed, Goodwood Revival and , of course, Glorious Goodwood.
