Property Description
Overlooking the sea in the charming seaside village of Balintore, S45071 is a large traditional house enjoying superb sea views. Originally, it was the village bakery, dating back to 1880. S45071 has since been beautifully restored throughout whilst retaining many original features, such as cleverly exposed stone walls, original solid wood flooring and welcoming wood-burning stove. It provides a good standard of accommodation for groups and larger families. The large lounge is situated on the first floor. This stunning room has uninterrupted views across the sea, with plenty of comfortable seating to add to the ambience. The spacious farmhouse kitchen is well-equipped. There is a five ring range cooker, a well-laid out fully fitted kitchen and large dining table for up to 10 guests. All the bedrooms are attractively presented with colour co-ordinated soft furnishings. Set right on the seafront, with large open gardens across the road that lead directly down to the beach, this really is the quintessential seaside holiday home. At the back is a secluded fully enclosed garden with patio and garden furniture.
Balintore is one of the “seaboard' villages in Ross-shire which straddles this lovely coastline. They all possess beautifully kept sea-fronts and little harbours, with rocky outcrops interspersed with stunning sandy beaches. Nearby, Shandwick is renowned for its beautiful golden sands and is used for a variety of sporting activities, including sailing, surfing and sea kayaking. This coastline is completely unspoilt and provides an idyllic seaside holiday away from the crowds. Dolphins and porpoises are regularly seen in the bay and even the occasional basking shark and beluga whale have been spotted close to shore. Balintore has good local facilities including a pub, restaurant, café and a small local store, all within easy walking distance. The area is an outdoor enthusiast's paradise with cycling, hill walking, golf, fishing, horse riding, sailing, canoeing and surfing all enjoyed locally. The nearby town of Tain, just 10 minutes' drive away, has an excellent selection of small shops, restaurants, cafés and pubs as well as a wide variety of sporting and recreational facilities, including tennis courts, golf club and bowling club, all of which are available to visitors. It is also home to the renowned Highland malt whisky distillery Glenmorangie. This is an ideal property for larger groups and families wishing to enjoy a Highland seaside holiday.
