Description
The Half Hogshead Tour at the National Brewery Centre is a 2 hour 30 minute brewery experience that is more than just a tour. Firstly you will enjoy a welcome meeting complete with tea, coffee and biscuits; this is when you will meet your guide. Your group will then receive a holographic style presentation of the history of brewing that covers everything from ancient times up to the present day, then the tour will commence.
You will be taken around the museum and the experience tour guide will explain every step of the brewing process and delve into the history and development of the industry. You will be surprised to learn the part that steam engines played in the brewing process. Learn about the legendary Bass family, and discover the stories of people who helped establish the world-renowned Burton’s brewing reputation. You will also visit the William Worthington micro-brewery which brings you up to date with the current brewing process. After your tour you will develop your beer appreciation skills and enjoy a full tasting session along with appetisers freshly prepared by the experienced in-house chefs.
